Commissioner Mayra Uribe

Commissioner Uribe Headshot -1

Commissioner Mayra Uribe was first elected to represent District 3 at the Board of Orange County Commission, in 2018 and re-elected in 2020. She is an Orlando native and was born and raised in the very district she represents. Mayra is of Colombian and Argentinean descent and is a true representation of the diversity in Orange County.

Prior to running for commissioner, Mayra served as a district aide for U.S. Senator Bill Nelson. In that role, she assisted constituents with concerns regarding the military, FEMA, immigration, transportation, and labor matters. This experience fed her passion to serve the community and propelled her forward on a path of public service. In addition to her public service, Mayra co-hosted the Kevin Sutton Show for nearly a decade on ESPN 580 Orlando and iHeart Radio.

Mayra is the proud wife of Kevin Sutton, Director of All-Star Dads, a fatherhood nonprofit program, and mother to a 19-year-old daughter, Faith, and a 5-year-old son, Lincoln. She is also a longtime member of Saint John Vianney Catholic Church in Orlando. Being a parent has strengthened her resolve to assist those in our community in need, especially children.

Mayra’s family, faith, and desire to serve everyone in our community motivate her to make Orange County the best place for our residents to work, play, and live.
