Women in the Military
"She Proudly Served: Women in the Military" was on display at the Women’s History and Cultural Center beginning in November 2024, in honor of Veterans Day. This exhibit highlighted the stories of both nationally recognized and local women who served in the military. Visitors experienced rotating videos with patriotic music alongside informational boards that shared their inspiring stories.
The exhibit honored the contributions of women across all branches of the military, from the earliest days through every major conflict: from the Revolutionary War to the Iraq War. It offered a powerful look at the courage, dedication, and impact of women who proudly served their country.
Thank you for your service
As part of She Proudly Served: Women in the Military, we hosted a special event to honor our local heroes. The evening brought together community members to recognize the service and sacrifices of women from our own area who proudly wore the uniform.
